BMWFlash allows you to read out an MSS52, MSS54, or MSS54HP DME completely. You can also just read out the data area to save for editing and reflash your changes back. These features are free for development purposes, as the DIY community has taken a keen interest in the MSS54 platform.

It will not reflash the entire DME contents, only the data area. The checksum is automatically corrected on MSS52, MSS54, and MSS54HP before a flash occurs.

Any FTDI based K-Line cable will work for this. It’s suggested that you use the FT232RL based cables, as they’re much more reliable.
